Meet Franco Carranza, a school psychologist and the treasurer for the Nevada Association of School Psychologists. In his role, he can take on challenging tasks.

“The spectrum of roles we undertake is expansive,” he said, “All aimed at bolstering the educational performance and success of both general and special education students, as well as advocating for their mental well-being.”

Mr. Carranza was inspired by his experiences as an English Language Learner at CCSD to become a school psychologist. He saw the profound impact on students and their families, particularly those from culturally and linguistically different backgrounds. His bilingual expertise provides valuable insights to school teams and fellow psychologists.

“It’s incredibly fulfilling to witness the transformation of students who initially faced academic or emotional difficulties and watch them make significant progress over time with the right support.”
