Nevada Department of Education Issues Notice of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Annual State Application

CARSON CITY, Nev. – The NevadaDepartment of Education (NDE or Department) today announces that copies of theAnnual State Application under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Act(IDEA) for Federal Fiscal Year 2022 (State Fiscal Year 2023) as amended in 2004have been disseminated to stakeholders throughout Nevada.
“Nevada’s application for the Individuals with DisabilitiesEducation Act helps to ensure that our students with disabilities have theservices and supports they need in order to access an equitable education,”said Jhone Ebert, State Superintendent of Public Instruction. “The workwe move forward at the Nevada Department of Education focuses on each and everyone of our students and their opportunity to attain their vision of success!”

Federal law requires that the document be circulated throughoutthe State for a sixty-day period of time prior to final submission to the U.S.Department of Education. Within the sixty-day circulation period, federal lawalso requires that the state establish a thirty-day period within which it willaccept written comment from the public concerning the document.
In accordance with this requirement, written comment from thepublic will be accepted from March 29 through April 29, 2022. Writtencomment should be directed to: Ms. Julie A.
