The Program of Study and Complementary Course Standards have been revised to include the sequence level after each Performance Indicator in the core courses (e.g., L1/L2) and provides the Content Standards, Performance Standards, and Performance Indictors for the complementary course(s).
The Supplemental Program Resources Document combines information originally found in the Program of Study and Equipment List Documents as well as the Crosswalks that were previously listed at the end of each set of program standards. (This area is currently under construction - Stay tuned for updated information!)
The CTE program resources page provides a variety of documents for Nevada’s public and charter schools to design, implement, and assess their CTE programs and curriculum. Some resources include: CTE Course Catalog, CTE Program Directory, Advisory Committee Handbook, Quality Program Standards, Academic Credit for CTE Courses, and Career and Technical Student Organizations, etc.
There are two types of CTE Assessments. The Workplace Readiness Skills Assessment measures student proficiency in the Employability Skills for Career Readiness state standards. The End-of-Program Technical Assessments are program specific and measure the skill attainment of students who have completed a program course sequence. These assessments are aligned to the state standards and are required by the Nevada Administrative Code 389.800.
CTE College Credit is awarded to students based on articulation agreements established by each college for the CTE program, where the colleges will determine the credit value of a full high school CTE program based on course alignment. An articulation agreement will be established for each CTE program designating the number of articulated credits each college will award to students who complete the program.
Accountability puts together required reports and other information as requested; Keeps track of secondary and post-secondary enrollment, performance, and CTE program information; Works closely with other NDE accountability groups.
Funding for local agencies is available annually through state and federal funds. Federal funding is provided by the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006. Grant application guidelines, budget forms, uses of funds guidance, and more is provided for users on the Grants Administration page.
Nevada recipients and sub-recipients of federal financial assistance from the U.S. Department of Education are bound by federally mandated and regulated statutes to follow civil rights requirements in vocational programs.
