    Distance Learning Courses

     

    Course Application & Guidelines 

    All Distance Learning Courses must be approvedand must align to the Nevada Academic Content Standards which includes ELA,Math, Science, Social Studies,World Language, Integrated Technology and Computer Science, Fine Arts, Health,and Physical Education. Additionally, all courses that are part of CTE programsmust also be aligned to the CTE standards. It is the responsibility of thevendor to update courses when new standards have been revised and adopted inNevada one year after the formal adoption by the Nevada State Board ofEducation. Materials used for coursesmust be open and accessible and follow copyright regulations. Copyrightviolations could cause denial of course. 

    The NDE Distance Learning Course Application is open from August 15 - September 30. Courses will not be accepted outside the open submission periods, no exceptions.

    Nevada Department of Education has the right to request documentation for a course review at any time.

    Nevada Department of Education can remove a course from the approved list at any time. 

    If submitting Advanced Placement courses, the standard - course alignment must be completed AND the approval letter from college board be submitted with application.

     

    Please complete every section of the application in its entirety, or delays will occur in the review process. Detailed description of each step of the review process is in the application and provided in the Nevada Distance Learning Course Review Process.

    Course Application  

    CTE Submissions: All CTE courses must be reviewed and approved by the CTE Office. Completed CTE course application should be emailed to Karen Chessell at kchessell@doe.nv.gov for review.
