    2/5/2020 Career and Technical Education – Carl D. Perkins Local Formula Grant
    Description: The purpose of the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (aka, Perkins V) is to develop more fully the academic knowledge and technical and employability skills of secondary education students and postsecondary education students who elect to enroll in career and technical education programs.
    Eligible Entities: Public secondary and postsecondary local education agencies (LEAs) offering recognized Nevada CTE programs of study. Public charter schools that offered and had enrollment in a recognized Nevada CTE program of study in FY20 are eligible to apply for this grant funding in FY21.

    Description: The purpose of the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (aka, Perkins V) is to develop more fully the academic knowledge and technical and employability skills of secondary education students who elect to enroll in career and technical education programs.
    Eligible Entities: Public secondary local education agencies (LEAs) offering recognized Nevada CTE programs of study; public charter schools that offered and had enrollment in a recognized Nevada CTE program of study in FY20; and who will receive less than $15,000.00 in their Perkins Local Formula grant.

    2/5/2020 Career and Technical Education – Carl D. Perkins Corrections Grant

    Description: The purpose of the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (aka, Perkins V) is to develop more fully the academic knowledge and technical and employability skills of secondary education students and postsecondary education students who elect to enroll in career and technical education programs.
    Eligible Entities: Eligible recipients are state or county youth correctional facilities charged with the responsibility for court-adjudicated youth, ages 14 through 17, and only those facilities which serve youth on long-term placements (i.e., four months or longer) and offer career and technical education programs. For FY21, four agencies/districts are determined eligible to apply for the funds. They represent the five institutions of C.O. Bastian High School in Lincoln County; Jacobsen High School in Douglas County; Nevada Youth Training Center in Elko County; Summit View Youth Camp and Spring Mountain Youth Camp in Clark County.

    2/5/2020 Career and Technical Education – State CTE Competitive Grant

    Description: The purpose of state competitive CTE grants is to drive change at the school or district level through the development, expansion or improvement of CTE programs. State competitive funds must be used strategically to provide CTE programs leading to high-skill, high-wage, and/or in-demand (regionally specific) career pathways where such programs do not exist, or at such sites where students have limited opportunities or access to complete a CTE program of study.
    Eligible Entities: School districts and public charter schools with an existing Career and Technical Education (CTE) program of study or who would like to develop a CTE program.
    Due Dates/Timeline: 3/6/2020 by 4:00 p.m.

    2/5/2020 Career and Technical Education - State CTE Allocation Grant

    Description: The primary goal of the State Allocation Grant for New Programs, Program Expansion, and/or Program Improvement & Support is to increase the numbers of students enrolled in and who complete CTE programs of study through the development of relevant, high quality programs.
    Eligible Entities: School districts and public charter schools with existing Career and Technical Education programs of study.

    1/31/20 Adult Education and Family Literacy Act Grant Opportunities

    Description: The Nevada State Department of Education is hereby notifying eligible applicants of two funding opportunities for multiple years for Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA) Basic Funds and Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education Funds (separately).
    Eligible Entities: This request for funding application is open to organizations that have demonstrated effectiveness in providing adult education and literacy.
