Nevada Diploma and Graduation Requirements

AB73 Graduation Adornments

AB73 allows students to wear traditional tribal regalia or recognized objects of religious or cultural significance as an adornment at a school graduation ceremony.

Nevada High School Diploma Types

College and Career Ready (CCR) Diploma

  • To earn a College and Career Ready Diploma, students must earn 24 credit units, with a 3.25 minimum Grade Point Average (GPA), take the Civics Assessment, take the ACT, complete additional coursework and endorsement requirements.

Advanced Diploma

  • To earn an Advanced High School Diploma, students must earn 24 credit units, with a 3.25 minimum GPA, take the Civics Assessment and take the ACT.

Standard Diploma

  • To earn a Standard Diploma, students must earn 23 credit units, take the Civics Assessment and take the ACT.

Alternative Diploma

Adjusted Diploma

  • The Adjusted High School Diploma is adapted to student needs according to an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
    • Adjusted Diploma means a diploma which evidences the graduation from high school of a pupil with a disability after the pupil has met special requirements or adjusted standards (per their IEP). (NAC 389.015) Transcripts and diplomas of Adjusted Diploma students may not show any indication that the student received this type of diploma.

Adult Diploma

  • To earn an Adult High School Diploma, students must earn 20.5 credit unis through an adult high school program established by a school district or an alternative program for students at risk of dropping out of school established by a school district.
