World Language

Overview

Learning a world language improves memory and brain function, increases listening and problem-solving analytical skills, and promotes empathy and self-discipline. These reading, writing, listening, speaking, and cultural competencies are no longer optional in today’s world. They are ESSENTIAL to succeeding in a 21st century society!

Nevada world language programs and approved standards promote college and career readiness as they open doors to the global pathways necessary for Nevada students to be able to compete in a rapidly expanding global economy and culture. Monolingualism is curable!

Please share this information with your World Language educators and communities to maximize access to these opportunities for all Nevada students and feel free to contact the Nevada Department of Education with any questions or concerns.
