Nevada Advisory Council for Financial Literacy
Overview
Nevada law established the Advisory Council on Financial Literacy to promote financial literacy and education across the state. The Nevada State Financial Literacy Advisory Council was established through Senate Bill 314 (SB314) during the 80th Legislative Session in 2019. This legislation created the Council to develop a strategic plan for financial literacy education, identify learning activities, and facilitate various financial literacy events.
In 2023, Assembly Bill 274 (AB274) was enacted to revise provisions governing required instruction in financial literacy and to change the composition of the Council.
