Alternative Route to Licensure (ARL) Program

Attention ARL Candidates:

This page is for ARL program providers only. If you are an individual candidate seeking an ARL license, then please follow the instructions on the Alternative Route to Licensure (ARL) Candidate Information page (do not complete the application linked on this page).

ARL Provider Information:

Per NAC 391.461 any provider that wishes to offer a program for an alternative route for the licensure of teachers and/or administrators must apply to the Commission on Professional Standards on a form prescribed by the Department of Education for approval to become a qualified provider.

ARL Provider Initial Applications:

  • Complete the Initial Application - Please contact license@doe.nv.gov for ADA assistance.
  • Once an initial application has been submitted, the ARL Review Team will evaluate the submission and contact the provider if they have questions.
  • When the Review Team has completed the evaluation of the program, it will be placed on the COPS agenda and notice will be sent to the provider.

For ARL Provider Renewal Applications:

ARL Provider Modification Request Forms:

  • If the modifications are non-substantive such as course title changes or course substitutions:
    • Complete the Modification Form.
    • Submit electronically to edprep@doe.nv.gov.
    • Non-substantive modification requests will be heard at a future COPS meeting and notice will be sent to provider.
  • If the modifications are substantive:
    • The provider must follow the initial application process above.
