Business Management and Administration

Overview

This Career Cluster® is focused on careers in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating business functions essential to efficient and productive business operations.

The Employability Skills for Career Readiness Standards must be an integrated component of all CTE course sequences.


Administrative Services (SY 2022-23 was the last year offered)

The Administrative Services program provides students with the principles of business office procedures and management. Areas of study include software applications, accounting functions, customer relations, human resources, and career exploration.

Students who started the program of study in or prior to the 2022-23 school year will complete program sequence as stated in the 2022-23 CTE Course Catalog. The Level 3 course for students who started the program of study in or prior to the 2022-23 school year will be offered through the 2024-25 school year.


Business Management (valid starting 2022-23 school year)

The Business Management program provides students with the overall principles of business management. Areas of study include economics, budgeting, human resource management, operations, strategic management, and financial-based decision making.

Business Management (SY 2021-22 was the last year offered)

The Business Management program provides students with the overall principles of business management. Areas of study include economics, budgeting, human resource management, operations, strategic management, and financial-based decision making.

Students who started the program of study in or prior to the 2021-22 school year will complete program sequence as stated in the 2020-21 CTE Course Catalog. The Level 3 course for students who started the program of study in or prior to the 2021-22 school year will be offered through the 2023-24 school year.


Logistics Management (valid beginning 2023-24 school year)

Careers in the Logistics Management pathway involve the planning, management, and control of the physical distribution of materials, products, and people. Often, more than one mode of transportation is used as distribution efforts can be complex, even national, or global. These people are responsible for the plans which will ensure that cargo arrives at the right location, on time, and in the safest, most economical manner.


Office Management (valid beginning 2023-24 school year)

Office Management focuses on careers that plan, organize, direct, and evaluate all or part of a business organization through the allocation and use of financial, human, and material resources.
