Migrant Education Program

Overview

The Migrant Education Program (MEP) provides funding and technical support to help migrant students of agricultural workers and fishers succeed in school. The main goal of the MEP is to give migrant children access to the same free public education as everyone else. These federal funds support high-quality programs for migratory students aged 3 through 21.

Title IC funds support students who move between states, or within a state, so they do not fall behind due to different school graduation requirements or curricula. Ultimately, the program gives migratory children the resources and opportunities they need to meet the same high academic standards expected of all students.
