Education and Training programs prepare students for careers in skilled occupations, postsecondary educational opportunities, and for personal life. Education programs utilize state standards based upon industry recognized standards and national Family and Consumer Sciences standards to ensure students are prepared for their transition to college, career, community, and personal life.
The Employability Skills for Career Readiness Standards must be an integrated component of all CTE course sequences.
Early Childhood Education
The Early Childhood Education program addresses child development, child care, and teaching and learning, to guide the development of young children in an educational setting. Areas of study include planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, basic health and safety practices, legal requirements for teaching young children, and the development of a career portfolio.
Teaching and Training
The Teaching and Training program provides students with the introduction to the principles of education. This program addresses human development, care, teaching and learning, so that students can guide the development of learners in an educational setting. Areas of study include planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, basic health and safety practices, and legal requirements for teaching learners.
