Teacher Incentives


Overview

The Teacher Incentive program was created in the State General Fund during the 78th Legislative Session (2015) via Senate Bill 511 and is codified in NRS 391A.400 – NRS 391A.455. The program was continued and modified in the 2017 legislative session through Assembly Bill 434 to include additional allowable use categories and through appropriations in Senate Bill 444 Sec.26. The program was further continued in the 2019 legislative session through Assembly Bill 196 to include additional allowable use categories and through appropriations in Senate Bill 555 Sec.30. The purpose of the Teacher Incentives program is to recruit and retain quality teachers in Nevada Schools.
