Maintain the Social Worker in School Program $22.4 Million

Overview

Appropriates $11.2 million in each year of the biennium to maintain the Social Workers in School Program that provides a social worker or other licensed mental health worker in select schools.  The Department of Education, through the Office for a Safe and Respectful Learning Environment, will distribute block grants to school districts and charter schools to provide for contract social workers or other licensed mental health workers in schools to support students.
