Governor Brian Sandoval and the Nevada Superintendent of Public Instruction are working together to encourage parents and students to access free online tools designed to promote reading, maintain math skills and inspire summer learning. Here are some FREE reading and mathematics resources parent and families can use with their children
Find a Book, Nevada
Nevada is proud to be a part of a nationwide summer reading initiative sponsored by the Council of Chief State Schools Officers. The "Find a Book, Nevada" tool offers students over 160,000 books from which to choose. This book-search tool enables individuals to build custom reading lists based on their Lexile range, grade level, and/or personal interests, and checks the availability of books at the local library.

The Summer Math Challenge is a FREE, six-week email-based math skills program for children who have just completed grades 1 through 8. Starting Monday, June 19, parents who register will begin receiving daily emails with fun activities and resources designed to help kids retain the math skills learned during the previous school year. When the program ends on Friday, July 28, parents can print an award certificate to celebrate their child's summer math accomplishment.
