Metrics Subcommittee for Accountability Redesign (SAR)
The Metrics Subcommittee for Accountability Design is an advisory group convened by the Superintendent of Public Instruction to support the development of Nevada's accountability systems, including the Nevada District Performance Framework (NDPF) and related accountability measures.
The subcommittee brings together representatives from school districts, charter schools, educators, higher education, business, and community organizations to provide diverse perspectives on proposed accountability measures, reporting approaches, and implementation considerations.
The subcommittee serves solely in an advisory capacity to the Superintendent of Public Instruction and the Nevada Department of Education. The Superintendent is responsible for the development of the District Performance Framework pursuant to state law and retains discretion regarding the consideration and adoption of recommendations provided by the group. The Metrics Subcommittee is not a board, commission, council, or other statutorily established public body nor vested by the Legislature with a specific charge.
What the Subcommittee Does
- Provides feedback on proposed accountability measures and framework components.
- Reviews draft indicators, methodologies, and reporting approaches.
- Identifies implementation considerations and potential impacts.
- Brings stakeholder perspectives to inform the Department’s work.
To promote transparency and public understanding of the accountability redesign process, meetings of the subcommittee are publicly noticed and livestreamed, allowing stakeholders and members of the public to observe discussions throughout the framework's development.
