Metrics Subcommittee for Accountability Redesign

The Metrics Subcommittee for Accountability Design is a statewide advisory group established by the Nevada Department of Education (NDE) in partnership with the Center for Assessment and the Nevada Commission on Innovation and Excellence in Education (NCIEE).

The subcommittee plays a key role in the design and development of Nevada’s District Performance Framework (NDPF) and the updated Nevada School Performance Framework (NSPF) in alignment with SB460 (2025).

Its purpose is to ensure that Nevada’s accountability system is meaningful, equitable, and actionable for students, families, educators, and communities. What the Subcommittee Does:

  • Advises on the design and structure of performance measures used in the NDPF and NSPF.
  • Reviews and provides feedback on proposed metrics, data sources, and reporting methods.
  • Ensures that the accountability framework reflects Nevada’s educational priorities, values, and local contexts.
  • Serves as a bridge between policymakers and practitioners by bringing diverse perspectives from schools, districts, higher education, business, and the community.

The Metrics Subcommittee will meet regularly between November 2025 and June 2026 (both in-person and virtually) to develop recommendations that will inform the blueprint for Nevada’s new accountability system.
