Overview

This Career Cluster® is focused on building linkages in information technology occupations for entry level, technical and professional careers related to the design, development, support and management of hardware, software, multimedia, and systems integration services.

The Employability Skills for Career Readiness Standards must be an integrated component of all CTE course sequences.

Advanced Computer Science Program of Study with Complementary Course Standards(valid beginning 2023-24 school year)

The Advanced Computer Science program provides students a deeper exploration in the study of computer science and computational thinking to include algorithms and programming, computing systems, data and analysis, the impacts of computing, and networks and the internet. Topics introduced include abstraction, artificial intelligence, machine learning, the basics of cybersecurity, and object-oriented programming.

Animation (SY 2022-23 was the last year offered)

The Animation program provides students with the principles of 2D and 3D animation and graphics. Areas of study include storyboarding, modeling, background development, and the production process.

Students who started the program of study in or prior to the 2022-23 school year will complete program sequence as stated in the 2022-23 CTE Course Catalog. The Level 3 course for students who started the program of study in or prior to the 2022-23 school year will be offered through the 2024-25 school year.

Computer Science (SY 2022-23 was the last year offered)

The Computer Science program provides students with the principles of computer science and programming. Areas of study include methodology, algorithms, data structures and object-oriented programming. Java and C++ are the primary languages taught.

Students who started the program of study in or prior to the 2022-23 school year will complete the program sequence as stated in the 2022-23 CTE Course Catalog. The Level 3 course for students who started the program of study in or prior to the 2022-23 school year will be offered through the 2024-25 school year.

Cybersecurity Program of Study with Complementary Course Standards (valid beginning 2023-24 school year)

The Cybersecurity program provides students with the foundational knowledge of operating systems, networking and network operations, industry protocols and practices for securing computing systems, computer forensic concepts, and emerging technologies in cybersecurity.
These Standards have been revised to include standards for complementary course(s) and introduces course sequencing after each Performance Indicator which was formerly shown in the Curriculum Frameworks.
The Supplemental Program Resources Document combines information originally found in the Program of Study and Equipment List Documents as well as the Crosswalks that were previously listed at the end of each set of program standards.

Digital Game Development Program of Study with Complementary Course Standards 2023-24

The Digital Game Development program provides students with the principles of game mechanics. Areas of study include programming, story and character development, and artistic theory and concepts to develop a game.The Program Standards and Curriculum Frameworks have been updated to include Content Standard 1.0 Integrate Career and Technical Organizations (CTSOs).

These Standards have been revised to include standards for complementary course(s) and introduces course sequencing after each Performance Indicator which was formerly shown in the Curriculum Frameworks.
