Following are four important updates from the Department of Education.

COVID-19 Update

As you are probably aware, Governor Steve Sisolak has declared a statewide state of emergency due to the COVID-19 virus, and has asked Nevadans to take steps to limit possible exposure to the virus. With this in mind, the Department of Education (NDE) is taking certain measures to protect the health of the public and Department staff, and would like to share these with you.

While NDE offices will remain closed to the public in Las Vegas and Carson City, all educator licensure services business will be conducted online until further notice. In order to keep everyone safe during this time, most educator licensure transactions may be conducted via our online licensing system, OPAL, which can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any computer at
