Nevada Department of Education Launches New Website and Brand to Increase Engagement with Nevadans

Accessible, mobile-friendly site was designed to meet the needs of teachers, students, and families, and the community

CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Nevada Department of Education is proud to unveil a new website and brand identity to engage all Nevadans in the important work of achieving educational excellence for every student and supporting all educators across the state.

"Governor Lombardo and the legislature made a historic investment in improving educational outcomes in Nevada during this year’s legislative session. Our new website and brand are a representation of the Department of Education’s commitment to enabling all of us to do our most crucial work, ensuring all students thrive, and every community member can access information about education in Nevada,” said State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Jhone Ebert.

Educators, students, parents and caregivers, and community members will find a new website that prioritizes accessibility and delivers enhanced navigation that makes it easy to find information relevant to a user’s unique needs. The new website is now organized around making information accessible for the Department’s most common web visitors: educators and administrators, families and students, and the broader community.

The updated website is the result of a comprehensive research and engagement process with key partners. NDE conducted internal and external surveys and focus groups, engaging teachers, parents and caregivers, students, staff, and other key partners to arrive at a new website that is accessible and easy to use. The new website offers information in multiple languages to ensure Nevadans of all backgrounds can access the information they’re looking for in the language they are most comfortable with. The website is also fully ADA-compliant and mobile-device-friendly.

“Our students and educators are digital-first and our new website is designed to meet them where they are and provide the resources and information they need,” said Elizabeth Callahan, Public Information Officer for the Nevada Department of Education. “Our new brand is a clear representation of who we are and will allow us to highlight the many, many examples of educational excellence from every corner of the state. I’m very proud to introduce these new tools to help our Department support the community.” The public will also notice a new logo and color scheme that evokes the state colors and represents the Department’s commitment to academic excellence, diversity, and inclusion. The logo represents a student with a graduation cap and book, highlighting a key priority of supporting all students to and through graduation while also recognizing a commitment to lifelong learning for all Nevadans. The logo is also designed to accommodate photo inserts where individual Nevada students and educators can be highlighted in the graphic mark.

The new brand and website are live now. The Department also has new social media handles that Nevadans can follow to stay informed. You can follow us at @NvstateED X(formerly Twitter) and Instagram. For more information, please visit the new and improved doe.nv.gov/.
