Nevada State Board of Education Invites Applicants to Apply for Appointment to the State Public Charter School Authority Board

Carson City, Nev. - The Nevada State Board of Education invites interested parties to apply for appointment to the State Public Charter School Authority (SPCSA) Board. Applications can be submitted online at NDE State Public Charter School Authority Board Application before October 20, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. to fill a vacancy of a resigned member for a three-year term, which will begin on December 1, 2022 and conclude on June 30, 2024.
"In an effort to continue to improve Nevada's education system, it is imperative that stakeholder voices are being represented by well-rounded individuals who have a focus on equity and high-quality education," said Jhone Ebert, State Superintendent of Public Instruction. "Our State Board of Education is looking for qualified candidates to serve as one of their two appointees to the SPCSA Board, and I welcome all interested stakeholders to consider applying."

Per Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) 388A.153, the Nevada State Board of Education is responsible for appointing two members to the SPCSA Board. Current Board Members are welcome to reapply to continue serving but are not guaranteed reappointment based on incumbent status. Members of the SPCSA Board must be residents of the State of Nevada.
