Nevada Department of Education Issues Notice of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Annual State Application

Carson City, Nev. - The Nevada Department of Education today announces that copies of the Annual State Application Under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as Amended in 2004 for Federal Fiscal Year 2024 (State Fiscal Year 2025) have been disseminated throughout Nevada.

“The Nevada Department of Education is committed to supporting our students with disabilities, ensuring they have the resources they need to access an inclusive education,” said Jhone Ebert, State Superintendent of Public Instruction. “Nevada’s application for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act provides all of our students with an opportunity to thrive.”

This document is also available for review at the following locations: Nevada Department of Education, Office of Inclusive Education, 700 E. Fifth Street, Suite 106, Carson City; and, Nevada Department of Education, Southern Office, 2080 E. Flamingo Road, Suite 210, Las Vegas.

A copy of the application is also available at Annual State Application under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Act .

Federal law requires that the document be circulated throughout the state for a sixty-day period of time prior to final submission to the U.S. Department of Education. Within the sixty-day circulation period, federal law also requires that the state establish a thirty-day period within which it will accept written comment from the public concerning the document.

In accordance with this requirement, written comment from the public will be accepted from April 1 through April 30, 2024. Written comment should be directed to: Ms. Julie A.
