Nevada Department of Education Announces Nevada Reading Week Events
February 21, 2025
CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Nevada Department of Education is pleased to announce the lineup of 2025 Nevada Reading Week events.
This year’s Nevada Reading Week is March 3-7. The theme is “Color Our World With Books.”
“Literacy is the foundation on which all other knowledge is built,” said Jhone Ebert, Superintendent of Public Instruction. “Nevada Reading Week is a longtime tradition that inspires students to cultivate a love of reading, helping them to explore, dream, and achieve their full potential.”
The Nevada Department of Education has been at the forefront of promoting literacy and the joy of reading through its annual Nevada Reading Week initiative since its inception in 1987.
This statewide endeavor brings together educators, librarians, students, and community members to partake in shared thematic activities aimed at fostering a love for reading.
This year, participants can look forward to many exciting events, including student access to PebbleGo by Capstone, the Nevada Reading Week Conference, the Author LIVE event, and curated booklists through TeachingBooks.
These events and activities are in addition to school, district, and community celebrations.
There are many ways educators, school leaders, librarians, students, and families can celebrate and participate in Nevada Reading Week:
