Nevada State Board of Education Provides Update on Superintendent Search

CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Nevada State Board of Education is actively advancing its search for the next State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
The deadline for submitting applications is Monday, July 21. After the application period closes, the Board will review submissions at its July 30 meeting and select a slate of candidates to invite for formal interviews.
“We’re seeking visionary leadership dedicated to equity, innovation, and accountability for Nevada’s students,” said Dr. Katherine Dockweiler, President of the Nevada State Board of Education. “This selection process reflects our shared commitment to advancing education across our state.”
Following the formal interviews, and in accordance with Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) 385.150, the Board will submit a list of three qualified candidates to Governor Lombardo, who will make the final appointment.
The Board encourages educators, stakeholders, and community members to follow the process and stay engaged throughout this important transition in educational leadership.
