Required trainings for the QRIS Providers
The QRIS coaches will assist providers in enrolling for the mandatory training sessions during the Steps to Stars phase, including the following:
- QRIS Introduction Training: This training is a prerequisite for all programs seeking to participate in Nevada's QRIS. Exclusive to center directors, administrators, and owners. Participants will learn how to utilize the QRIS to enhance their programs' quality. They will also gain insights into applying for program-improvement grants, as well as the steps required to achieve a QRIS rating. Additionally, this session will provide an overview of the Environment Rating Scales (ERS) and their role within the QRIS.
- Environment Rating Scale (ERS Training): Administrators of the program must engage in a comprehensive ERS (Environment Rating Scale) training as part of the Steps to Stars phase. During this training, providers will become familiar with the quality indicators covered by the ERS tools and learn effective strategies to enhance critical areas such as teaching practices, health and safety protocols, and fostering positive interactions. By participating in this training, administrators will acquire valuable insights and tools to elevate the quality of their early childhood programs, benefiting both the children and families they serve.
- Pyramid Model Training: Collaboration between the Pyramid model team and QRIS team is integral to this training. It involves aligning Pyramid model language with the ERS and implementing this alignment with teachers. Additionally, supplementary support is available upon request.
