National PTA Grant & Award Opportunities

Throughout the year, National PTA offers awards and grants to honor or support PTAs as they engage families, support student success, improve the health and safety of students and families, increase access to arts education or celebrate advocacy and diversity. The application process for our opportunities is easy, and the support or recognition your PTA could receive will have a lasting impact in your work and community.

2026 National Community Schools and Family Engagement Conference

The Institute for Educational Leadership (IEL) is proud to announce registration is now open for the 2025 National Community Schools and Family Engagement Conference in Long Beach, California. Over 5,000 participants will engage in learning and networking opportunities designed to increase their knowledge of family engagement, community schools and other whole-child strategies.

National Assembly for Family Engagement in Education

The 2026 National Assembly in San Diego, California will bring together educators, practitioners, policy makers, researchers, and funders to share experiences, learn best practices, build their capacity, and network with each other as we pursue a world where family engagement is universally practiced as an essential strategy to improving children’s learning and advancing equity.

The Children’s Bureau

The Children's Bureau administers discretionary and formula grants to support programs that serve children and families. It awards discretionary grants to state, tribal, and local agencies; faith- and community-based organizations; and other nonprofit and for-profit groups in order to promote knowledge development. States and tribes may also receive formula grants—which are distributed based on predetermined formulas and eligibility requirements—to help them operate their child welfare systems, including child maltreatment prevention, foster care, adoption, and applicable information systems.

ParentPowered Equity Grants

ParentPowered is an evidence-based family engagement curriculum delivered to parents via text three times a week. ParentPowered has been shown to increase child learning by 2-3 months over the course of a school year. Head Starts are automatically eligible and schools serving 80% or more economically disadvantaged families qualify for a maximum award of up to 100% of first year costs.

21st Century Community Learning Centers

The 21st Century Community learning centers provide out-of-school academic enrichment opportunities along with activities designed to complement the students’ regular academic program and high quality services support student learning development. They also work with parents to provide a safe environment for students during non-school hours or periods when school is not in session.
