February 19, 2025
CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Nevada Department of Education is pleased to announce the selection of a logo for the first Superintendent’s Student Advisory Group for Education (NV SAGE).
Students at Southwest Career and Technical Academy in the Clark County School District created logo designs for the advisory group’s consideration.
Under the direction of graphic design teacher Jennifer Gonzalez, students Alejandro Tulio, Jasmine Chanhthavong, and Amerie Ignacio produced unique branding proposals for NV SAGE.
At their January meeting, NV SAGE members selected a logo designed by Ignacio.
“NV SAGE is an inspiring example of student leadership in action, and these outstanding logo designs reflect the creativity and innovation of our students,” said Jhone Ebert, Superintendent of Public Instruction. “This initiative is about empowering students and we are excited to see the impact NV SAGE will have on education in Nevada.”
NV Sage, an initiative designed to amplify student voices in shaping Nevada’s education policies, held its inaugural meeting on January 14.
The advisory group has 21 members representing school district s and the State Public Charter School Authority. The group meets monthly using a virtual platform.
Members are in eighth through 11th grades and they’ll serve a two-year term.
