Mission Statement

The Office for a Safe and Respectful Learning Environment creates equitable systems that support students, educators, and families in fostering safe and respectful learning environments, and promotes practices that uphold safety, inclusion, and respect in schools across the state.

The office oversees key initiatives including Bullying Prevention and Appeals, Multi-Tiered System of Supports, Pupil Transportation, School Climate and Social Emotional Learning (SEL), School Discipline & Restorative Practices, School Health Services, SafeVoice, and School Safety. These programs are designed to support educators, students, and families in creating positive, inclusive, and safe learning environments.
