Overview
Mission Statement
The Office for a Safe and Respectful Learning Environment creates equitable systems that support students, educators, and families in fostering safe and respectful learning environments, and promotes practices that uphold safety, inclusion, and respect in schools across the state.
The office oversees key initiatives including Bullying Prevention and Appeals, Multi-Tiered System of Supports, Pupil Transportation, School Climate and Social Emotional Learning (SEL), School Discipline & Restorative Practices, School Health Services, SafeVoice, and School Safety. These programs are designed to support educators, students, and families in creating positive, inclusive, and safe learning environments. Nevada 2026 Safety Conference
The Nevada Department of Education in collaboration with Clark County School District, Washoe County School District, State Public Charter School Authority, and the Nevada Office of Emergency Management will be hosting two one day conferences revolving around school safety the conference will be held in northern and southern Nevada.
